RESTORATION OF THE KINGDOM (1814 and 1815-1848)

20 Francs - 1819 - A

Mintage - 2,350M

This coin's obverse pictures King Louis XVIII (b1755-d1824).  LOUIS XVIII is to the left of the bust and ROI DE FRANCE (King of France) to the right of the bust.  Below the base of the bust is the engraver's name MICHAUT F. and a horse's head. The reverse has the crowned royal arms in the centre encircled by a wreath with the denomination 20 F to the right and left of the arms. The date 1819 is at the bottom with the mintmark A to the right (for the Paris mint) and the cock privy mark to the left.

This coin's obverse pictures King Louis XVIII (b1755-d1824).  LOUIS XVIII is to the left of the bust and ROI DE FRANCE (King of France) to the right of the bust.  Below the base of the bust is the engraver's name MICHAUT F.  and a horse's head. This coin's obverse pictures King Charles X (b1757-d1836).  CHARLES X is to the left of the bust and ROI DE FRANCE (King of France) to the right of the bust.  Below the base of the bust is the engraver's name MICHAUT and a script T for the graveur général Nicolas Pierre Tiolier. The reverse has the crowned royal arms in the centre encircled by a wreath with the denomination 20 F to the right and left of the arms. The date 1825 is at the bottom with the mintmark A to the right (for the Paris mint) and the anchor privy mark to the left. 


40 Francs - 1830 - A

This coin's obverse pictures King Louis Philippe I (b1773-d1850).  LOUIS PHILIPPE I is to the left of the bust and ROI DES FRANÇAIS (King of the French) to the right of the bust.  Below the base of the bust is the engraver's name DOMARD F. The reverse has the denomination 20 FRANCS the anchor privy mark and mint mark A (for the Paris mint) and the date 1831 in the centre encircled by a wreath.
