This coin's obverse pictures Napoleon Bonaparte (b1769-d1821) as Emperor with the laureated bust.  At the base of the bust is the name DROZ.  Below the base of the bust is the engraver's mark the signature Tiolier. The reverse has the denomination in the centre encircled by a wreath and the French legend EMPIRE FRANÇAIS (French Empire) with the date 1811 at the bottom with the mintmark A to the right (for the Paris mint) and the cock privy mark to the left. The die cutter first added the cock privy mark to the right side where the mintmark was to go. He then stamped the "A" over the cock. The inset picture shows the A/cock in magnified form.

This coin's obverse pictures Napoleon Bonaparte (b1769-d1821) as Emperor with the laureated bust.  At the base of the bust is the name DROZ.  Below the base of the bust is the engraver's mark the signature Tiolier. The reverse has the denomination in the centre encircled by a wreath and the French legend EMPIRE FRANÇAIS (French Empire) with the date 1812 at the bottom with the mintmark A to the right (for the Paris mint) and the cock privy mark to the left.
