Below the base of the bust is the engraver's name Barre with privy marks of a hand and an anchor to the left and right, respectively. The reverse has the denomination 20 FRANCS and the date 1860 in the centre encircled by a wreath. EMPIRE FRANÇAIS surrounds the wreath at the top. The mintmark BB (for the Strasbourg mint) is below the wreath.
