This coin's obverse depicts King Carol I (b1839-d1914). The Romanian legend reads
CAROL I REGE AL ROMANIEI (Carol I King of the Romanians).
The designer's name KUNINICH is below the bust. The reverse pictures the
Romanian royal arms with the
date 1883 on the sides and the denomination 20 LEI at the bottom flanked by the
mintmark B for the Bucharest mint and the sheaf of wheat privy mark.
