This coin was issued by Fath'Ali Shah in Tabriz, northern Persia. The obverse has the Shah's name in Persian. The date 1243 is in the lower half of the reverse.

This obverse has a bust of George V with Persian legends around. The issue date 1303 is to the left and the accession date 1264 is to the right. The reverse has a encircled Persian legend for Nasir al-din Shah (b1831-d1896) of the Qajar dynasty within a wreath. Nasir al-din was assassinated by order of Islamic activist Jamal al-Din al-Afghani
