This coin's obverse pictures the bust of Ceres.  REPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE surrounds the figure at the sides.  The reverse has the Gallic cock encircled by the motto LIBERTE EGALITE FRATERNITE. The denomination 10 Fcs flanks the cock's legs. The date 1912 is at the bottom and is flanked by the privy marks of a torch and a cornucopia.  The edge lettering on this coin reads LIBERTE EGALITE FRATERNITE.


THE FIFTH REPUBLIC  (1959 - Current)

This NCLT "coin" commemorates the centenary of the donation of the Statue of Liberty to the United States in 1886.  Special proof editions were minted in Gold, Platinum, and Palladium. This is one of the 9.500 minted in pure Platinum.  The obverse features a facing Miss Liberty to the right the dates 1886-1986 and the country's name REPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE below.  The reverse has a stylized tree with the body being a Liberty Cap and the French national motto LIBERTÉ ÉGALITÉ FRATERNITÉ.  The denomination 100 F is below with the date 1986 and privy marks flanking the trunk. To the right is the small legend DURAND, MEGRET.
