The obverse features the profile of King Farouk, second to the last royal ruler of Egypt. The reverse has Arabic legends and the date 1938 and 1307 (AD and AH). The coin was issued to celebrate Farouk's wedding.

The obverse features the profile of President Abdul Gamal Nasser. Col. Nasser led the military revolt which deposed King Farouk and established a republic. He nationalised the Suez Canal in 1956 which led to war with the West. The reverse has Arabic legends and the date 1970 and 1390 (AD and AH). The coin was issued to commemorate the death of Pres. Nasser (1918-1970).
