These coins were minted at the American mint in Philadelphia Pennsylvania,  The obverse features a bust of Jose Marti (b1853-d1895) the Cuban patriot who died in one of the first skirmishes against the Spanish in Cuba.  PATRIA Y LIBERTAD (Country and Liberty) surrounds the top of the bust. The date 1916 is at the bottom. To the left is the gold content in grams (1.6718) and to the right is the fineness (900 M).  The reverse displays the Cuban arms within a wreath with REPUBLICA DE CUBA (Republic of Cuba) at the top and the denomination UN PESO at the bottom.


2 Pesos - 1916

These coins were minted at the American mint in Philadelphia Pennsylvania,  The obverse features a bust of Jose Marti (b1853-d1895) the Cuban patriot who died in one of the first skirmishes against the Spanish in Cuba.  PATRIA Y LIBERTAD (Country and Liberty) surrounds the top of the bust. The date 1916 is at the bottom. To the left is the gold content in grams (3.3436) and to the right is the fineness (900 M).  The reverse displays the Cuban arms within a wreath with REPUBLICA DE CUBA (Republic of Cuba) at the top and the denomination DOS PESOS at the bottom.


5 Pesos - 1916
