The obverse features a bust of King Edward VII (b1841-d1910).  The legend EDWARDVS VII D:G:BRIT:OMN:REX F:D: IND: IMP: (Edward VII, by Grace of God, King of all the Britons, Defender of the Faith, Emperor of India) surrounds the bust.  The designer's initials O.S. are below the bust.  The obverse is designed by G W De Saules.  The reverse has St. George slaying the dragon with the date 1909 below, the mintmark C (for the Ottawa mint) in the centre of the mound, and the designer's initials LP to the right. The reverse was designed by Bendetto Pistrucci.

IND: IMP: (George V, by Grace of God, King of all the Britons, Defender of the Faith, Emperor of India) surrounds the bust.  The obverse was designed by Bertrand Mackennal.  The reverse has St. George slaying the dragon with the date 1911 below, the mintmark C (for the Ottawa mint) in the centre of the mound, and the designer's initials LP to the right. The reverse was designed by Bendetto Pistrucci.

The obverse features a bust of Queen Elizabeth II (b1926-).  The legend ELIZABETH II D-G-REGINA (Elizabeth II, by Grace of God, Queen) surrounds the bust.  The reverse has the Canadian arms with the date at the top flanking the crown and the country's name CANADA to the left and the denomination 20 DOLLARS to the right.
